July Recap: Family Fun, Thunder Wins, and the Perfect Summer Dessert

July was a whirlwind—but in the best way! With all three of my older boys starting school in just a couple of weeks, we did our best to soak up every bit of summer.

We kicked off the month celebrating the 4th of July with a visit to Top Golf (a family favorite!), followed by a small backyard BBQ. The kids loved lighting off fireworks while we enjoyed good food and great company.

Mid-July was all about family time. We visited both sets of grandparents, and while we were gone, my garden… well, let’s just say it missed me. Thankfully, my dad came to the rescue and helped me reclaim it from the weeds. Garden revival success!

Now technically this happened in June, but it deserves a shoutout: We are huge OKC Thunder fans! My husband and I worked in Oklahoma City during our newlywed years, and we’ve been loyal to their team ever since. Watching them take the trophy this year was so exciting—especially seeing our boys so invested. They even decorated the basement before Game 7 to surprise their dad. We had to snap a photo in our Thunder gear to remember it!

Summer Recipe of the Month: Peaches & Cream Sensation

This month’s featured recipe is a new favorite I made with my sister-in-law and close friend Hanni (who’s also been my work sidekick for five years!). A friend dropped off a batch of fresh peaches from their tree, and we knew we had to do something special with them. Enter: Peaches and Cream Sensation from Mel’s Kitchen Café. It’s the ultimate summer dessert—cool, creamy, and packed with fresh flavor. 10/10 recommend!
